Meet Your Grower: Western Cultured

Arlington may be a ferry ride away for us here on Whidbey Island, but it is home to one of our favorite producer/processors, Western Cultured. This tight nit crew likes to ask its consumers, how do you light up the moment? During our tour we asked Brianna Hughes what sets them apart from the rest of the producers in Washington. Her response was exactly what we love to hear from our vendors, “ Western Cultured is not just a brand, it's who we are & what we do. It's a lifestyle that we are proud to represent and we want to share west coast cannabis and our passion with the whole world. We work with growers who grow the most flavorful, hand crafted flower with responsibility and love. We are the first recreational cannabis company to educate it's consumers about the flavor and aroma (terpenes) of this plant and how that effects the high you experience.”

As we continued on we asked what was so unique about their growing process. Western Cultured growers use coco fiber with Pearlite added for drainage and aeration to the root zone. They mix that in with a proprietary blend of nicronutrients that are broken down over the life of the plant aided by natural beneficial root bacteria and fungi. Sounds very scientific but at the end of the day this crew knows how to produce amazing, clean tasting cannabis. From that cannabis they product premium prerolled joints and extracts. Their most popular strain is the Seatown Lemon Haze strain that is not only selling out here on Whidbey Island but all over Seattle as well.

Where does Western Cultured see their brand in the next year? They see themselves Partnering with more top notch producers and processors. They can't seem to keep up with the demand! Great problem to have but they would ideally like to have nearly every store in the state selling the Seatown Lemon Haze strain, to do that they need more production of this strain. They would also like to see the brand represented in the other recreational states like Oregon & Alaska. More involvement community events. Most importantly is by next year they would like to be one of the top sources of cannabis flower education to both the retail shops and the end users.

This industry is always moving forward so we had to ask Brianna the question, where do you see the industry in the next couple years? She responded with “Growing! This is still the wild west, hard to imagine just a few years ago we were still hiding and now we can't imagine putting this industry back into the closet. It's easy to become acclimated but every day we are appreciative to have the opportunity to show we are true entrepreneurs and some of the hardest working people in business.  We look forward to this industry becoming more mature and Western Cultured leading the pack.” We look forward to seeing where Western Cultured ends up and how much further this partnership between us can go! Let us know your favorite Western Cultured strain and tell us how you light up the moment?
